American Express Platinum Travel Card | Redeem MR Points for Flipkart Vouchers
As communicated earlier, American Express has discontinued the SpiceJet vouchers redeemable against bonus membership points, w.e.f 1st August 2020. That being said, we had also communicated that we have had a word with the American Express representatives about it. They had assured that their marketing team is working to bring in another merchant who would provide a similar value of the points that SpiceJet used to offer.
Just twenty days on and the merchant that would now provide similar value for the bonus points turns out to be Flipkart. You hear that right, you can go into shopping spree instead of sitting idle on your points and wait for COVID to end before you could start booking your tickets for your favorite destination. Details below:
❍ Bonus MR points can be redeemed as follows:
- 7500 Bonus MR points achieved for 1.90L spend can be redeemed for
- 10000 Bonus MR points achieved for 4L spend can be redeemed for
❍ The cardholder can redeem their points by calling the Amex Support Center or through the recently launched chat service.
We are convinced that this redemption option of Amex MR Points against Flipkart EGVs will be welcomed by almost all the cardmembers. However, if we were given an option for choosing EGVs from Flipkart and Amazon, that would have been a better offering.
