SBI Unnati Secured Credit Card - Review

In India, whenever we talk about anything related to finance; sooner or later the name of the State Bank of India pops up like magic. It's no different in terms of credit card either. It's been a couple of days that I was talking about AMEX being picked up as the most trusted credit card brand in India for the 5th time in a row by brand analytics firm TRA Research; some of my friends disagreed. One of them came up with SBI Cards as in SBI Card offers this and SBI card offers that, etc.

No doubt that SBI Cards has got the steel in it or in the words of the trending machayenge guy, 'Emiway Bantai,' SBI Card is 'Bohot Hard.' If not, the Indian multinational would not succeed to reach the 1 lakh card issuance mark in 1999, just a year after it entered the credit card space in 1998. By 2002. SBI Card managed to touch the ‘1 Million Cards’ club which in itself is astonishing as back then, only a handful of the population could get their hands on credit cards. Today over 7 million SBI cards are being swiped in the country, but still, the second-largest credit card issuer is not stopping. Quite often, SBI Cards adds a new card with new features into their already strong credit card portfolio. After competing neck-to-neck with other card issuers in premium and classic credit card categories, SBI Card has now turned its focus on elementary cards to cater & accommodate entry-level first-time credit card users. With that as an objective, it launched the SBI Unnati Credit Card that can readily be issued to an individual against a minimum FD of just Rs 25,000.

SBI Unnati Credit Card Offers:

No Joining or Annual fee
The card is free from annual charges for the first 4 years

Nothing extraordinary but SBI Unnati CC is a very decent entry-level credit card. As there's no need to shell out a single penny for the first 4 years, one can consider giving it a space in their wallet and garner RPs and other extra benefits such as occasional & festivity discounts/cashback on eCommerce platforms.
