Amex Valentine's Day Offer | Enjoy Multiplied Rewards + Additional Rewards

American Express has triggered Valentine's Day promotion for love birds. During the promotion, targeted cardholders can opt to transact via Amex's Reward Multiplier Portal to enjoy 5x, 3x, and 2x Rewards and additionally get Bonus RPs as communicated in the offer mailer. Details below:

Offer Details

• The cardholder will be assigned a unique spend target. Against the target given, the cardholder will be rewarded with a certain amount of additional reward points.

      -   Some of the offers that different cardholders have received are below:

• 5X points on American Express Platinum Card via Reward Multiplier Portal. Additionally, you will get 14,000 Membership reward (MR) points if you shop for INR 50,000 and above.

• 3X points on American Express Platinum Reserve Card / American Express Platinum Travel Card via Reward Multiplier Portal. Additionally, you will get 6,000 Membership reward (MR) points if you shop for INR 25,000 and above.

• 2X points on American Express Membership Rewards Credit Card, SmartEarn Credit Card, and Gold Charge Card Reward Multiplier Portal. Additionally, you will get 3,000 Membership reward (MR) points if you shop for INR 15,000 and above.

Offer Duration

• 5 February 2021 to 14 February 2021.

Offer Conditions

• The offer is only applicable to a select set of American Express Card members who have received the Offer communication from American Express.

• The cardholder has to transact through the Reward Multiplier Portal's offer page using American Express Card.

• Qualified card members will receive the reward points within 120 business days from the date when the offer ends.

CP's Take

Let Amex guys call it a valentine's day offer or whatever they might want to call it, and you certainly do not need to be one of those love birds to avail of this offer. So if this promo's mail has hit your inbox, just go ahead and buy something for yourself, if required. We say so because you get a good chunk of RPs with this promotion. 

Let us do the math for you:

Take, for example, the offer that we have received on our Platinum Travels Card. We are entitled to 6000 RP on spending 25K. Typically, even if we transact via RM Portal, we would only get the multiplied 1500 RPs. However, with this promotion, we would get 1500 RPs + an incremental 4500 RPs, a total of 6000 RPs. In short, it's 12x RPs on 25K spend.
